Getting to the cable car
Take Line 4 to Myeongdong Station and leave by Exit 3. Walk up the road to the right of the Pacific Hotel. It's about a 10-minute walk.
Namsan Oreumi (free lift)
A free sloping elevator runs from near the Namsan 3 Tunnel entrance up to the cable car station in about 2 minutes. It runs 09:00–23:00, but stops on Monday mornings (09:00–14:00) for checks.
The Namsan gondola
Seoul planned a new gondola from Myeongdong Station to the top for spring 2026. It isn't running yet. Work stalled over a lawsuit, and Seoul now talks about 2027.
My tip: You don't need the round trip. Buy a one-way cable car ticket up (₩12,000), then ride the 01A or 01B bus down for ₩1,500. Go up just before sunset. You'll see the city in daylight and then lit up at night with one ticket.
N Seoul Tower by bus
Private cars can't drive up to the tower. Two Namsan loop buses go to the top.
- Bus 01A: from Chungmuro Station (Lines 3 and 4) or Dongguk University Station (Line 3). Every 9 minutes, 06:30–23:00. It also stops near Gyeongbokgung and Insadong.
- Bus 01B: from the same stations, every 14 minutes, 06:30–23:00. It stops at the cable car station too.
- Fare: ₩1,500, and you can transfer with a transport card.
